Instagram Reels v. TikTok
After the announcement earlier this week, there will be a lot fewer TikTok videos on Instagram. 😔 You heard that right! The video and image sharing platform released a statement that it will be changing the algorithm to look out for TikTok watermarks that are blurry and low resolution. The new algorithm makes it difficult to get discovered by people who aren’t following the person who posted the video on Instagram.
Recycling TikTok videos on Instagram was great for users because they could find tons of other videos from the creator’s TikTok. Like @enkyboys posts many TikTok videos on Instagram that will be limited now because of the rule. But, hey…Instagram does not like competing with TikTok, especially now that they recently added their Instagram Reels feature. 💥 They want more people to get creative on their platform and use the feature more often.
Take precaution. Be careful of how you’re generating your reels. Try posting content for reels and then posting different content for Tik Tok. Or here’s a smart trick 👀 — before you post the TikTok screen, record your phone and then crop the tag onto Pinterest. There are many more effects and features you can do with TikTok.
This rule will impact how people find TikTok users, and it will force more people to use Instagram Reels.
Pin Your Interests with Pinterest
Pinterest is an online bulletin board where users discover and curate images or videos. Once you see a visual you like, all you have to do is repin it to your category board. It’s a place to find inspiration and creativity.
For the first time ever, Pinterest is having a virtual summit on March 3rd between 1 – 3 PM EST. I can’t believe they have never done that before! 💕 Nonetheless, it’s better late than never. And the event is free! If you are trying to incorporate Pinterest into your business strategy, you should register for this event at pinterestpresents.com. This news comes after the significant growth they had in 2020 due to COVID-19. They have likely had a 76 percent increase within the year in the number of people on the platform. DIY crafts are one of the most popular categories on Pinterest. Now that we’ve been in quarantine for a while, it’s great to treat new things.
What to Look For. You might be noticing a lot more e-commerce on the platform. The event will be talking a lot about how the algorithm likely moves and best practices to use on Pinterest. This will be a terrific lead-gen way for an in-person event (eventually). It’s such a low cost, low budget, and when everything opens back up, it’ll feel like a pop sugar type of thing: fun, creative, curated.
The summit will give companies a better way to use Pinterest for their brand and drive e-commerce. That’s what makes Pinterest unique. It relies on users to repin content.
What is the next big social media app, you ask? The answer is Clubhouse, which is an all audio-based social media app that started in 2020. Think Zoom and Spotify for audio, and anyone can join. There are rooms that you can hop in or out of and hear debates, jam sessions, book clubs, or comedy clubs.
If you’ve ever hosted a room on Clubhouse, you would know that it’s a little bit tricky to share your event that you’re hosting. There is no easy way to share an announcement from Clubhouse to Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter. But that changes with Club Link!
👉 New Tool Alert! The new tool called ClubLink ✌allows hosts to promote their events by offering a more customized social media preview feature, which has a photo, room name, who is attending, and the date and time of the event. Creative Label has a whole in-house design team to create fun, cute branded, curated graphics. But if you don’t have that and you just want to talk, this is an excellent resource for you. Also, because ClubLink is a web link base, specific keywords you’re going to be talking about will have a higher chance of coming up for SEO purposes.
- Bio.xyz helps you perfect your profile bio on a desktop and then copy it over to your Clubhouse on your foam, which allows you to advance your clubhouse file.
- Canva helps create fantastic designs and tailors them to social media aspect ratios.
- Clubhouse Glow and Clubhouse Avatar Maker will help you make your profile picture stand-out and be better.
Do you think you’ll use Clubhouse?
