l media platform that never fails to adapt to the new trends. This time around, the new trend is influencer marketing–and it’s taking social media by storm. A new poll came out stating that marketers believe they acquire better customers through influencer marketing. Because of that, just recently, the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) started cracking down on brands and influencers, as well as rolling out guidance on influencer marketing. In response to the FTC, Instagram is making adjustments to help its users maintain FTC compliance. After all, the bulk of influencer marketing takes place on Instagram.
Where will I see this? In the coming weeks, you’ll start to see a new “Paid partnership with” tag on posts and stories.
Not only does Instagram’s paid partnership feature eliminate some of the risk that influencers and brands may face when it comes to influencer marketing, the feature also allows brands and partners to disclose partnerships quicker and easier than ever before.
What else is new? Insights on the campaign are also new! Typically people would use softwares other than Instagram to track the progression and ROI (Return on Investment) of a campaign. These softwares are no longer needed, because with the new feature both the brands and influencers have access to the campaign insights and can track exactly how their branded content posts and stories are performing. Creators will continue to see metrics in their Instagram insights, whereas business partners will see shared reach and engagement metrics in their Facebook Page Insights.
